VA Awards Contract to Symplicity to deploy its Career Services and Case Management System Nationwide

April 1st, 2005 9:15am EST. Arlington, VA.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) awards contract to Symplicity to deploy its Career Services and Case Management Systems nationwide.

In May of 2003, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs established the VA Task Force on VR&E with the charge to provide an unvarnished, top-to-bottom independent examination, evaluation, and analysis of the VR&E Program. The Task Force report provided findings and recommendations to the Secretary. The report identified changes necessary to rebuild the VR&E Program to best provide service-disabled veterans the opportunities and services they need for working and living productively in the 21st Century. As a result of their studies, the Task Force recommended that VA provide an interim information system capability and long-term solution to support a redesigned comprehensive employment services program.

As a result, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will work with Symplicity to develop an online career information center and full-text Employment Readiness Information Network - ERIN database of program resource materials that is highly efficient and easy to use for VR&E employees, veterans, employers, and educators. The employment services system will be a user-friendly, comprehensive, integrated internet-based network that offers such one-stop employment services as career exploration, local and national labor market information, educational components on job readiness skills, and both local and national job search functions.
