Less Manual Work, More Meaningful Support: What's New in Access & Accommodate 8.1

The February 2026 release of Symplicity Access and Accommodate brings a handful of updates focused on reducing manual work and giving staff — and faculty — better visibility into what's happening with their students.

More Control Over Automated Semester Requests

Auto Renewal and Auto Approval can now run as separate processes, so your team can use one or both depending on how your office operates. You can also schedule processes to run on a specific date or daily across a date range, which comes in handy during busy periods like add/drop when requests are rolling in continuously.

Smarter Test Room Booking Conflict Detection

For offices using test room bookings, the system now automatically detects when a student's booked time doesn't line up with their actual exam requirements based on their accommodations. Staff get a clear alert when something's off, along with an easy way to resolve it — either one booking at a time or in bulk.

Faculty Can Now See the Full Picture

Faculty can now view detailed descriptions of each student's accommodations or adjustments directly from their course page. It's a small change that goes a long way toward making sure students get the support they're entitled to — without faculty having to chase down that information elsewhere.
