We've been excitedly awaiting our chance to announce the release of UniHub 5.17, packed with enhancements designed to make student engagement, skills development, and career preparation more seamless than ever! This update focuses on removing friction from key processes while empowering both students and staff with better tools and workflows. 

Faster Check-Ins, Better Engagement 

Event attendance just got a major upgrade. Students can now check into events using just their email or student number—no password required. This streamlined approach makes QR code check-ins lightning-fast while maintaining security through our improved authentication system. Whether it's a career fair, workshop, or networking event, students can focus on the experience rather than fumbling with endless login credentials.  

It's all about the Jobs!

The Jobs form has been completely redesigned, significantly improving accessibility and user experience. It includes new structured fields for work model and remuneration, supporting clearer job postings and enabling more effective compliance checks during the vetting process. Additionally, the student job search has been enhanced with new filters and information to support student employability!

Enhanced Experience Verification 

We've transformed how experience verification works by bringing external providers directly into the process. Organizations can now review and respond to student verification requests for events and activities they manage, creating stronger relationships between students and opportunity providers. 

Key improvements include: 

• Unified verification process: Experience and reflection verification are now combined into a single, streamlined request 

• Smart filtering: Both staff and external providers can filter to see only the requests they're responsible for 

• Clear role distinction: Better separation between event providers and experience verifiers 

• New permissions: The experiences.verify permission gives administrators precise control over who can process verification requests 

Practical Improvements That Matter 

Beyond the headline features, 5.17 includes thoughtful updates that improve daily workflows: 

• Smarter calendar sync with better handling of all-day events and the ability to hide "free" events for cleaner scheduling 

• Enhanced Provider Interface allowing external organizations to include attachments with event requests 

• Improved privacy by hiding organization contact details from students in experience-related emails 

• Better data exports with new workflow task columns in CSV downloads
