In this Symplicity Spotlight, we're featuring Implementation Manager, Will Speirs. Will works in Australia and has been in the Australian Higher Education industry for years. Implementation has been a steady theme in Will's career during that time, eventually landing him an opportunity to continue this work with Symplicity. Read below to learn more about Will and his impactful work at Symplicity, as well as what he likes to do in his time off the clock.

How did you end up at Symplicity?

"I’ve been working in the Australian University/Higher Education sector for quite a few years and had started managing some projects for them, so when I was messaged on LinkedIn by Symplicity looking for someone to implement their software I saw it as a great opportunity, as I’ve always enjoyed working with technology."

What does your work at Symplicity look like and where are you based?

"I’m both a client and implementation manager, so as well as managing projects and new deployments to clients for both our Access/Accommodate and Advocate products, I also support existing clients. This means I’m able to bring new developments and discoveries I make with new clients during implementations to existing clients during our regular check ins, as well as using that experience from existing clients to provide guidance and inform decisions when implementing the new clients. I’m based in Brisbane, where our main Australian office is."

What's your favorite part of working at Symplicity?

"I like the challenges of working on new projects – new clients bring new requirements and expectations and I like to use my problem solving skills to help tailor our products to help our clients achieve their goals."

What are you looking forward to in Symplicity's future?

"As a longstanding provider of software in the University sector, it’s great to see Symplicity continue to innovate and develop the software to help our clients achieve their goals. Although the way many of our clients work can be quite different, they are often trying to achieve similar goals, so having the backing of a software company with the experience to continuously improve and enhance our products and achieve these goals is very rewarding."

What do you like to do outside of work?

"I like to do home improvement projects to keep myself busy. I recently re-laid and painted my deck – re-planting the front garden is next!"
